Recommended Driver Practices - Driver App

Orders will populate into the Driver App (from top-to-bottom) in the same order as on the "Delivery/Routing" screen (from left-to-right). You can change the starting time and starting location (per Driver/Truck), arrange the route, and designate landfills or transfer stations for the route.

Note: It is also recommended to have your driver record the mileage for business tax purposes and calculating vehicle depreciation.

Delivery Workflow Best Practices:

  1. Review customer details and internal notes for any important information.
  2. Optional by Business: Confirm order is paid, or take payment in the Driver App.
  3. Optional by Business: Confirm the contract is signed, or collect a contract signature in the Driver App.
  4. Drive to the job site and deliver the dumpster.
  5. Upload/Take photos in the Driver App of the dumpster placement. We suggest a minimum of two:
    • A picture of the drop location before the dumpster is placed.
    • A picture of the dumpster placement with the serial number and customer's house visible in the photo.
  6. Assign Serial/Tracking Number in the Driver App.

Pickup Workflow Best Practices:

  1. Review customer details and internal notes for any important information.
  2. Drive to the location for pickup.
  3. Inspect the dumpster for any banned materials, such as Tires, Mattresses, Freon Appliances, Hazardous Waste, dirt, concrete, etc. (This will vary by business and location)
  4. Upload/take photos through the Driver App of the filled dumpster and of the location after the dumpster’s removal. We recommend the following:
    • A picture of the full dumpster with a visible serial number and the customer's house visible in the photo.
    • A picture of the dumpster location after removal to show the state of the property.
  5. Drive to the landfill/transfer station and empty the dumpster.
  6. Optional by Business: Take photo(s) of the scale/landfill ticket.
  7. Enter the Total Tonnage into the Driver App.
  8. Optional by Business: Record additional tonnage information, such as Landfill Name, Landfill Price/Ton, Landfill Ticket Number, Refuse Type, and/or County Name.
  9. Deliver the dumpster to the yard.
  10. Return Serial/Tracking Number in the Driver App and select an appropriate status. Statuses are customizable, by business, in the Control Panel under Admin > General Config > Misc Settings
    • Yard Full - the landfill is closed and the filled dumpster is returned to the yard. It cannot be rented again until emptied.
    • Yard Empty - the dumpster is empty and ready for the next job.
    • Damaged - the dumpster cannot be used because of damage.

For Multiple Jobs/Dumpsters

1. Swapout (Most Efficient): Driver takes an empty dumpster (if available) to the job site, drops the new dumpster, and picks up the full dumpster on site.

2. Dump and Return: Driver heads to the job site, picks up the full dumpster, dumps it, and returns the same dumpster back to the job site.
